Micronics flowmeters measure water flow in pipes for multinational manufacturing company
A specialist provider of electrical and mechanical engineering services to the commercial, industrial, and public sectors and in heritage properties in the South West needed to precisely measure the flow of water through a pipe for a multinational manufacturing company and without tapping into the pipe which would have necessitated shutting down the busy plant. A design consultant recommended Micronics flowmeters to James McGinty, a Director of Plymouth-based Drew & Company. He felt that the ease of installation and the maintenance and service benefits delivered by this non-contact technology would be ideal for his immediate requirements. “We were able to hire the Micronics Portaflow 330 in August 2016 and found that it performed perfectly. It did everything we wanted and enabled us to correctly size some complex boiler plant. All the measurements were carried out without the need to cut into the pipe, which would have meant shutting the plant down. We are planning to hire another PF330 shortly.”
The specialist Micronics product, used for clean liquid monitoring, with its integral logger and software and non-invasive measurement represented significant savings on installation costs and less disruption than when installing an alternative in-line meter.
