Micronics portable flowmeter relied on by Scottish commissioning specialist
A Glasgow-based commissioning specialist used a Micronics Portaflow 330 to test water flow rates at the Raigmore Hospital in Inverness. Ronnie Eusebi of Phoenix Commissioning Services Ltd did some online research in early 2017 to find a portable flowmeter which would suit his requirement for a reliable unit that could effectively be used to monitor water and waste water flows and to manage consumption at the same time as protecting the environment. He was pleased to discover the Portalow 330 from Micronics, a UK company that has been providing leading edge solutions for 35 years. Phoenix has gone on to use the Micronics unit throughout the UK regularly for clients where no commissioning stations are installed.
The Portaflow 330 is an ultrasonic, clamp on and non-invasive flowmeter for closed pipe applications and is used for clean liquid monitoring. The specialist Micronics product, with its integral logger and software and non-invasive measurement represented significant savings on installation costs and less disruption than when installing an alternative in-line meter, which is important to Phoenix. The Micronics clamp-on flowmeter for liquids is portable and easy to use and offers continuity and long term reliability. It is robustly constructed and because there is no need to cut into pipes it provides a quick and reliable means of measuring flow accurately significantly reducing downtime. This saves both time and costs.
Ronnie Eusebi will continue to rely on the Portaflow 330. “We selected the Micronics Portaflow originally due to the ease of installation and the maintenance and service benefits delivered by this non-contact technology and have been very satisfied with its operation and the data it provides. We have continued to use it on numerous occasions and will do so into the future.”
