Micronics heat meters used by large engineering group in their work with major drinks manufacturer
A large Birmingham-based engineering group who provide specialist expertise across a variety of engineering projects for many of the world’s largest manufacturers used a Micronics U1000 heat meter to carry out the metering on the site of a large drinks manufacturer. ADI Intelligent Buildings Ltd were called in to attempt to get a handle on the energy usage for the factory in relation to the LTHW and Chilled water systems which are vital parts of the production process. The customer could not interrupt their process therefore the existing pipe work could not be broken into. Ian Black, Operations Director for ADI had used Micronics heat meters on several occasions in the past so had complete confidence that the U1000 would be an ideal solution.
Micronics U1000 water flow and heat meters offer a non-intrusive method of energy monitoring for hot and chilled water systems. A development from the tried and tested U1000 Ultrasonic Flowmeter, the Micronics U1000HM includes clamp-on temperature sensors and a heat meter to calculate the energy use of water systems. The U1000 delivers significant installation cost and dry maintenance benefits over traditional inline products.
With over 30 engineering divisions ADI Intelligent Buildings was formed in 1990 and is now a multi-disciplined operation spanning numerous markets consistently delivering innovative and creative engineering solutions. They cover a wide-range of engineering disciplines encompassing Smart Metering, BMS, Building & Refurbishment, Electrical, Engineering Compliance Management, Environmental, Maintenance, Manufacturing Automation & Information Systems, Mechanical, Project Management. System Efficiency and Utilities Systems.
Ian Black is totally satisfied with the Micronics range of heat and flow meters. “Our client has found the accuracy of the data delivered to be excellent and its operation has proved exceptional. Furthermore the technical support and assistance from Micronics has always been very helpful.”
