Micronics flowmeter used to measure water flow through propellers on international ships
AVT Reliability used a Micronics U3000 flowmeter to measure the water flow through a propeller on a Denmark-based ship. This was part of a major project and Adrian Hall, AVT’s Senior Consulting Engineer had heard about Micronics flowmeters and approached the Buckinghamshire-based company to see if they could offer a reliable solution to his needs.
The Ultraflo 3000 was chosen because it offered a non-invasive, quick and reliable flow measurement solution. It brings simplicity to the measurement of liquid flow. With its easy to follow menu and simple set up it proved to be a cost-effective alternative to a traditional in-line meter installation. No installation drain down or pipe cutting was required. Furthermore, downtime is kept to a minimum due to the fact that dry servicing is possible, saving both cost and time and absolutely vital in an industry which is so fast-moving. Compact, rugged and reliable, the Ultraflo has been designed to provide sustained performance in engineering environments and was ideal for Adrian Hall’s needs.
Born out of AV Technology Ltd, the UK’s foremost Maintenance and Integrity Consultancy since 1976 and AES Pump, one of Europe’s largest independent pump repair and supply companies AVT Reliability has become a leading provider of Asset Management and Reliability Solutions to Industry. Specialising in all pumps, AVT Reliability Pump Division have six UK workshops offering local facilities for pump repair, pump upgrade, pump supply and mechanical seal support.
Adrian Hall is a great advocate of Micronics flowmeters. “We were so impressed with how reliably the Micronics unit performed that we have used it since on ships based out of Sweden and Saudi Arabia and will continue to use it. I would certainly recommend its use to any company with a similar requirement.”
