Micronics heat meters track energy usage within centralised heating system
A Hertfordshire-based metering & billing agent for multi-utilities used 4 Micronics U1000 heat meters in the middle of 2018 to meter flow rates and energy within a large centralised heating system with large transmission steel pipes (DN120) to track typical performance parameters. The U1000MKII-HM is an ideal alternative to traditional inline energy meters, for energy management and billing-assisting applications in domestic and commercial, district or shared heating or cooling systems. Offering significant installation cost and dry maintenance benefits over traditional inline products it has significant features and benefits including that it is very simple to install – connect power and enter the pipe inside diameter, adjust the sensors and clamp-on the pipe; there are no specialist skills or tools required and it features a new cross correlation flow measurement system and 1Mhz transducers to get through poor or old thick wall pipes and larger pipework. Furthermore, dry servicing is possible which ensures minimum downtime and maximum availability.
