E2 Services – Micronics flowmeters helped apportion energy costs on prominent site
37 Micronics U1000 fixed, clamp-on flowmeters were used by Worcester-based E2 Services, a leading provider of demand side energy management and energy cost reduction programmes. Mike Stafford, E2’s Head of Energy Services was commissioned to help their client, Northwood Investors, a prominent real estate investment advisor and property management company appropriately apportion costs for the use of gas on a former large multinational IT firm’s site in Portsmouth. Northwood Investors, a community landlord is one of the top five commercial landlords in the UK and, realising the need for investment in energy efficiency, had appointed E2 to provide energy management services across all their sites. E2 Services has operated within this market for over a decade and implement practical energy management solutions, helping over 100 of their clients achieve savings in excess of £100k per annum. They assess multi-site businesses to quantify and sequence energy reduction measures.
Mike Stafford had used Micronics flowmeters previously and has had significant support from them and so felt confident in the U1000’s. Micronics clamp-on flowmeters deliver major installation savings due to minimal downtime. There are also significant maintenance benefits because the system does not need to be drained down or pipes cut into, saving substantial time and costs. They are straightforward to install simply clamping onto the pipe, connecting to the power and entering the pipe diameter. No specialist skills or tools are required. The U1000 measures flow rate with a volume pulse output and optional 4-20mA flow rate signal and can be used as a stand-alone meter or as an integral part of an aM&T or BEM’s system. “We chose the Ultraflo 1000’s because they offered a non-invasive, quick and reliable solution. I believe that they offer a cost-effective alternative to traditional in-line meters. Furthermore, dry servicing means that downtime is kept to a minimum, very important to our client.”
